Message to University Presidents

The federal government has no more strategic interest in protecting you and your institution. The cold war is over.

When students and the society find out what you are doing to American education you are going to be disgraced.

When the huge profits you have taken from students in textbook sales is understood you will loose your jobs.

When your scheming to create private businesses following the Bayh-Dole Act and your personal wealth creation is understood you will follow Enron executives to jail.

When the corruption and skimming of money you have created through distance learning is found out there will be a congressional investigation into higher education corruption.

When you drive your institutions out of business and incur great personal wealth the society is going to take the money away from you.

When your so called University assessments are seen as a sham you will be fired.

You have become what we all have spurned. The devil posturing as an educator.

Insist that professors allow textbooks that are previous editions?

Professors that suggest that the new editions are current may be asked to use the internet for current examples.

Ask your professor if your assignments and testing could be something that you could show to a potential employee as part of a marketing portfolio.

Ask your professors to give examples of Factual But Not Truthful marketing.

Do not fall into the trap of distance learning. It is now used to save money for the University and fire your professors. The best distance learning course they will give you is not equal to your worst professor.

Distance learning is distance training for you.

If you are fearful I will e-mail your professor with the requests.

You are about to be devalued for everything you have ever done by administration.

Give all students an A. They are going to start with student evaluations to fire you.

Please read my critique of marketing textbooks.

As fast as possible move away from marketing textbooks to the Internet.

Never use a marketing case textbook.

If you do not your job will be lost.

Make sure that a psychopath is not allowed to become a university president.

Publish in a broad range of journals and publications.

Develop your own website outside of the institution. Do not say too much about it.

The other forms of transfer of marketing knowledge are done.

Never critique or advise your colleagues of anything.

Make the titles of all your publications appear to have a common theme or research interest.

Do not expect one colleague to ever read anything you ever write.

Never try to tell a quantitative devotee anything.

Do not become a textbook devotee.

Never use the multiple choice tests from textbook test banks.

Absolutely nothing in the textbooks can be supported for any reason accept rote memory.

Yes the textbook authors know what they have done and why.

When they come after you it will be over teaching.

Do a study that simply asks students what they believe each question on your teacher evaluation means?

Start to identify the power of government and the real role that marketing plays.

You can use me as a mentor.

You may easily be the first to be targeted for firing. Very few universities will say they want to get rid of you because they want to cut back their workforce. Be ready to defend your teaching. This how they usually come.
